Accompaniment

I'm so glad you've landed in this little corner of the internet!

In 2026, after a lengthy discernment, I embarked on a new adventure of ministry, in order to respond to the years-long call on my heart to accompany others who work for the Church. I began working for the Church 20 years ago, and while it’s certainly been a fruitful and grace-filled season,  I’ve also experienced some of the familiar challenges that emerge in pastoral ministry. I have personally found that friendship, ongoing formation, and spiritual direction have been essential to staying fixed on Jesus and strengthening my own connection the Body of Christ (and going beyond just “white knuckling” my way through the liturgical seasons). Guided by these principles, I want to do my part to support those serving on the front lines of evangelization and ministry in the local Church.

In a few of his homilies, Pope Francis spoke of “returning to Galilee”, as a way to prayerfully recall our first encounters with Christ and hear once again His call to follow Him. This ministry of spiritual memory is not aimed at nostalgia, but rather a re-focusing on when and where our life of discipleship began, so that we can move forward with trust and hope. In this ministry, I strive to create spaces and moments which help facilitate a “return to Galilee” – especially for those who are serving the Church in some capacity, and have a particular need to hear the message and call of Christ once again.

In the course of working in the Lord’s vineyard, there are days brimming with fruit and days that are long and difficult – and the days in between. Across all such moments in ministry, prayer is powerful and refreshing, and spiritual conversation with friends and partners in mission is very valuable. So please reach out if you're interested in any of the following:

  • spiritual direction - or simply some conversation around faith and ministry (I have completed a formation program in spiritual direction through the Institute for Ministry Formation).
  • in-person or virtual small group discussions with other parish leaders. This is a chance to pray together, encourage each other, and exchange ideas for ministry.
  • a day of reflection or a retreat tailored for staff, key volunteers, or pastoral council members.

“It seemed to him that he had stepped through a high window that looked on a vanished world. A light was upon it for which his language had no name. All that he saw was shapely, but the shapes seemed at once clear cut, as if they had been first conceived and drawn at the uncovering of his eyes, and ancient as if they had endured forever. He saw no color but those he knew, gold and white and blue and green, but they were fresh and poignant, as if he had at that moment first perceived them and made for them names new and wonderful. In winter here, no heart could mourn for summer or for spring. No blemish or sickness or deformity could be seen in anything that grew upon the earth. On the land of Lórien there was no stain.”
